On completion of the application of the first waxing, colours can be applied. Various effects can be established.

Eg. Diffusion : Salt can be added to wet colours for it to melt and diffuse the colours creating textures (which is most easily achieved with silk).

For fixation, dilute the batik fixer with 10% to 20% water, apply on the painting and allow to dry.
